Choosing the right planner is never easy. Especially when Instagram and YouTube will have you hyped up over new releases. Lately, I’ve learned to choose my planners based on purpose and efficiency. Below, I’ll detail what I consider to be PROS and CONS for planners in my current rotation.
Let’s talk about my EDC (everyday catch-all) first. It’s a disc-bound planner in the size CP Petite from C&P. What I LOVVEEEE about discbound planners is the flexibility. You can change the disc sizes to decrease or increase you planner size when needed. For example my 1st CPP setup used .75 discs and I recently increased it to 1INCH GOLD DISCS because I wanted to add more inserts to expand my usage. Another flexible pro is the ability to change the cover whenever my heart desires without paying hundreds for a new leather ring planner. For example the unique mix of covers I made with the FLUTED DASHBOARD, The Art of Living dashboard, and the top cover from the AS WE ARE dashboard set. One con I noticed is that without a leather cover the top cover gets scratched up pretty easily and can start to look cloudy over time.
Next up is my financial planner in personal rings. My rings used to be EDC but disc-bound changed my life okay lol. Things I find as pros in rings is it stability. The leather on my LV has taken a beaten throughout the years but doesn’t look like it at all. Also while it’s not as flexible as my discs it’s still more flexible then a spiral or bound notebook because you can change inserts, dashboards etc. One item I would consider a con is that you really can’t put much stress on the rings so there will be no overstuffing and it’s not so easy to expand the ring size.
Last in the rotation is my C&P TASK SPIRAL PLANNER, which I will use for work. While this planner doesn’t have much flexibility, I love that it’s completely put together. For work, I don’t needs tons of bells and whistles. What I need is a planner that’s efficient and constructed well. Some accessories I add for more functionality is the CADENCE TOP TAP DIVIDERS and the DIAGONAL FOLDER SET.
What are some pros and cons to you? What do you really enjoy about your current planner system?
