WASH DAY

Hey besties,

If you’re new here, I plan for life hunty and one of the things I plan out is time with my mini me and that includes wash day, because wash day isn’t just about hair care. It’s more than a routine, it’s a cherished ritual passed from Black mothers to their daughters, rooted in love, care, and tradition. From detangling, to styling, to every twist, braid, and conversation in between becomes a beautiful connection to our culture, our beauty, and to each other. These moments with my daughter reminds me of those moments sitting in-front of the stove waiting to get my hair pressed by my grandmother. Wash day is one of the things I immediately looked forward to when I first found out I was having a girl.

Let me know if you guys want more personal moments like this shared here. I’m pretty private and set on not showing her face online (for predatory reasons) but I would be inclined to show more of my life through planning. As always, until the next post besties 🫶🏾 And if you’re not subscribed, you should be because the blog always gets the content & posts first 👌🏾🤎.

Products used, SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER, DETANGLER, STYLING JELLY, STYLE & SHINE, EDGE BRUSH, RAT TAIL COMB, and ELASTIC BANDS. Things I also use are these ELASTIC CUTTERS when taking down her hair.
